Meeting Description:
You are cordially invited to the conference organised by the School of English,
Academy of Management, which will be held in Warsaw from 12th to 13th December
2009. The conference will be devoted to 'Foreign influences on Medieval
English'. The aim of the conference is to bring together specialists in the
areas of Medieval English linguistics, particularly interested in language
contact in Old and Middle English.

Plenary Papers
We are delighted to announce that the following scholars have agreed to present
plenary papers:
Dr Richard Dance (Cambridge)
Prof. Marcin Krygier (Poznan)
Prof. Rafal Molencki (Katowice)
Prof. Hans Sauer (Munich)
Section papers
Section papers (20 minutes + 10 minute discussion) in all areas of research
connected with foreign influences on Medieval English will be welcome. 500-word
abstracts should be submitted by 30th June 2009, preferably by e-mail
(medievalconference at swspiz.pl), in the .rtf or .doc (Word for Windows) format.
If your abstract requires special fonts, please send it also as a PDF file. All
proposals will be reviewed by the organising committee. You will be notified
about acceptance by the end of July. Participants without papers are also welcome.
A selected number of papers will be published by Lang Verlag in a volume edited
by Prof. J. Fisiak and Dr M. Bator.
Venue and Accommodation
The conference will be held at the Academy of Management, in the centre of
Warsaw. Various hotels are available, ranging from cheap to more luxurious.
More information on accommodation will be provided on the Conference website.
Registration
Registration form will be available on the Conference website. The registration
fee will have to be paid on registration. The regular registration fee is 30.
PhD students have to pay 15, undergraduate students can attend the conference
without any payment. All enquiries concerning the Conference should be addressed
