Dear linguists,

For work related to my PhD I am looking for free (maybe even open source)
tools for grammar checking and error diagnosis in German.

I am aware of the LanguageTool Open Source language checker 
(www.languagetool.org) and of research prototypes as described in 
Berthold Crysmann; Nuria Bertomeu; Peter Adolphs; Daniel Flickinger; 
Tina Klüwer: Hybrid Processing for Grammar and Style Checking, In
Proceedings of COLING08
and
Fortmann, Christian, Martin Forst (2004): An LFG grammar checker for 
CALL, In Proceedings of ICALL-2004.

However, the problems with these is, that their coverage is limited 
and/or they are not readily available for use in other contexts.

Does anyone know of any other tools? We want to use it especially for 
diagnosing German learner language.
