Special Issue on Georgian in the Typological Perspective

Scope:
The Journal of Language Typology and Universals / Sprachtypologie
und Universalienforschung (STUF) is preparing a special issue on
'Georgian in the Typological Perspective'. We would like to invite
paper contributions on any of the following topics:
* Description and analysis of linguistic phenomena in modern
Georgian or in the historical development of Georgian that are
typologically unusual or interesting;
* Contact-induced changes in Standard Georgian and/or its dialects;
* Comparisons of phenomena between Georgian and other unrelated languages;
* The place of Georgian in proposed typological classifications or
generalizations;
* Studies of first- or second-language acquisition of Georgian;
* Psycholinguistic or aphasic studies of Georgian.
Papers should be of interest to a general linguist audience and should
not assume detailed knowledge of Georgian-specific phenomena or
terminology.
Submission:
Anonymous abstracts (in English, maximum 2 pages, including data and
references) have to be submitted electronically as portable document
format (.pdf) or Microsoft Word (.doc) files via the EasyChair conference
management system:

no later than December 15, 2009. Authors whose abstracts are accepted
will be invited to submit their papers by February 28, 2010. Papers
will undergo a rigorous peer review and selection process, with the
aim of producing a volume by early 2011.

* Notification of acceptance/rejection: December 30, 2009.
* Submission of papers: February 28, 2010.
