Meeting Description:

The 20th anniversary meeting of the Southeast Asian Linguistics Society in 2010 will be hosted by the Department of General Linguistics of the University of Zurich from 10 June 2010 to 11 June 2010. 

Call for Papers:

Abstracts are invited for papers on any topic related to the analysis of Southeast Asian languages, such as descriptive, theoretical, or historical linguistics, linguistic anthropology (ethnolinguistics, language attitudes and ideology, discourse and conversational analysis, language and gender, language and politics), language planning, literacy and bilingual education.

Please submit your abstract as an attachment in both .pdf and .doc formats by e-mail to the address of the organizing committee (sealsXX @ gmail.com). The abstract should consist of one page (with one additional page for examples and references) written in a Unicode font. The abstracts must be anonymous; author information (name, address, affiliation and title of paper) must be given in the body of the message only. Please clearly indicate the (sub) field of linguistics of your paper.

Abstract submission deadline is February 15, 2010.

An author may submit one single and one joint abstract. In case of joint authorship, one author should be designated as the contact person. Presentations are allotted 20 minutes with 8 minutes for questions. All papers at SEALS are presented in English. Papers presented at the meeting will be considered for publication in the Journal of the Southeast Asian Linguistics Society (JSEALS).

Notification of acceptance will be given by March 15, 2010.
