Seminar Title: Transferring Knowledge across Disciplines and Academic
Communities
The aim of this seminar is to bring together the latest research of scholars
engaged in the analysis of forms of knowledge dissemination across
disciplines and academic communities.
For the plenary lectures the following keynote speakers have accepted to
participate:
Professor Ken Hyland (City University of Hong Kong)
Professor Paul Thompson (University of Birmingham)
Call For Papers
Appropriate topics for presentations include:
-comparison of academic genres, disciplines and linguistic-cultural contexts
-argumentation in academic genres
-intercultural communication and academic communities
-English as lingua franca in expert/non-expert communication
-using corpora as an innovative tool in exploring academic language
-implications for language teaching for academic purposes
Papers will be allotted 20 minutes, plus 10 minutes for discussion

Please send an anonymous abstract totalling no more than 300 words by
