Meeting Description:
The International Conference on Language for Specific Purposes Teaching and Specialised Translation Skills Training in Higher Education Institutions is organized by the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Law at Peoples' Friendship University of Russia(Moscow) annually. The Conference brings together teachers, researchers and professionals from all over the world to exchange, discuss and develop their ideas on foreign language for specific purposes teaching and specialized translation skills training in a multicultural world. The conference program offers a lot of opportunities for contacts between various professionals, specialists and practitioners. The event will consist of a three-day program combining plenary sessions, workshops and panel discussions.

Ways to participate:

-on-site participation,
-publication of abstract/ article in the conference proceedings book (with ISBN, free of charge, with further sending through our university mail service )
Papers are welcome on the main topic areas:
-Language for Specific Purposes Teaching: New paradigms, challenges and solutions
-LSP Status within the Multilingualism of European Higher Education
-Specialized Translation Sills Training: Theory and Practice
-LSP Teacher Training and Teacher Development
-Translation Teachers' Training: Competences, Curriculum, Approaches
The above mentioned key areas may include the discussions on the following aspects:
-Cultural studies and LSP teaching
-Corpora and LSP teaching
-Discourse studies and LSP teaching
-ICT in LSP and Specialised Translation Teaching
-Testing, evaluation and assessment in LSP and Specialised Translation Teaching
Workshops and round tables are supposed to be organized on the following topics:
-Teaching Legal English: challenges and peculiarities, solutions and innovations.
-Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language at Universities
-Teaching German as a Foreign Language at Universities
-Teaching French as a Foreign Language at Universities
Any other topic which could be of interest in the field of LSP language teaching and learning also welcome.
Submissions:
The deadline for proposals is February, 1, 2011.
The papers should not exceed 8000 units (4 pages A4 format, Times New Roman,14)
The working languages of the conference are Russian and English but papers in French, Spanish, German are welcome.
Electronic Submissions should be sent in MS Word or RTF format to atabekoff at gmail.com
All the papers are supposed to pass through the blind peer review procedure.
Accommodation:
University campus, 2* hotel style double and single rooms, or 3* hotel rooms, 15 minutes walk from the University, 3-5* hotel accomodation in the city hotels

The conference is sponsored by the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Law of the University.
Visa support:
If your paper is accepted you will be informed about this until February 10th. The Organizing Committee is ready to arrange an official invitation for you to the conference through the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation. The scanned documents (passport and application for visitors form - to be sent upon request - are to be submitted 45 days prior to the person's entry in the country).
