Meeting Description:
This workshop aims is to provide an opportunity for scholars to share their
ideas and experience of adopting different methodological and theoretical
perspectives on studying legal terminology.
Call for Papers
We invite papers and work-in-progress reports related to the following issues
(the list is not exhaustive):
- Term phraseology; word combinatorics, formulaicity in legal texts;
- Resources for terminology work; corpora; computational and analytical tools;
- Legal terminography;
- Socio-cognitive approaches to legal terminology;
- Cross-language and cross-cultural studies;
- Indeterminacy in legal terminology; vagueness in legal concepts;
- Ontologies, knowledge structures and knowledge management;
- Terminology and its applications for translation;
- Perception and comprehension of legal terminology by the general public
- Teaching legal terminology to various audiences (translation students, law
students and professionals);
