VI International Conference
8-10 October 2010, Moscow
Call for Papers
The VI International conference Phonetics Today hosted by the Russian Language
Institute (Russian Academy of Sciences) will be held on October 8-10, 2010 in
Moscow. We invite papers in all areas of Russian phonetics and phonology
including, but not exclusively:
- Articulatory phonetics
- Acoustic and auditory phonetics
- Methods and techniques in instrumental phonetics
- Phonology of Russian
- Word and sentence prosody
- Synchronic variation and orthoepy
- Dialectology
- Historical phonetics and phonology
- Russian in contact with other languages
- Methods of fieldwork
All talks will be for 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of discussion.
Paper submission
To submit a paper, please send your abstract of no more than 500 words
(excluding examples and references) either by email to phoneticstoday at yandex.ru
or by post (one hard copy and a soft copy on any media) to: Department of
Phonetics, Russian Language Institute, Moscow 119019, Russia
Panel submission
There will be several slots to accommodate panel proposals. Panels will include
three speakers with one speaker serving as a moderator.
To submit a panel proposal, please send us the panel title, the name of the
moderator and three abstracts as described above. Please note that we have a
limited number of slots for panel proposals, and earlier submissions will have
an advantage.
Student Session
Traditionally there are student sessions at the conference and graduate students
are encouraged to submit their proposals.
File format: RTF or PDF (the latter is advisable if include any graphics in your
abstract)
File name: [your_surname].rtf or [your_surname].pdf, e.g, jones.rtf
Text: Times 12-point, 1.5-spaced. For phonetic symbols unavailable in Times,
please use Doulos SIL or Charis SIL (downloadable from
http://scripts.sil.org/cms/scripts).

name, address, affiliation, and e-mail or any other contact information.
We will notify you of your acceptance status by June 15, 2010.
