Meeting Description:
The first international conference on 'Languages in Business Education' provides a unique opportunity for all those involved in Languages and Business to exchange ideas, share experiences and outline opportunities for future research. Researchers are invited to submit abstracts and papers broadly consistent with this conference's topic.
The conference is open to anybody involved in 'Language and Business' issues, including both young and experienced researchers, PhD students, post-doctoral researchers, and professionals from business, government and non-governmental institutions. The conference will be in English, but research may be related to any language.
Organization and Venue:
The workshop takes place at the city campus of the University College Brussels ("Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel", HUB), situated in the historical centre of Brussels and close to the institutions of the European Union. The conference is jointly organized by the Faculty of Economics and Management and the Faculty of Language and Literature at HUB.
HUB offers a wide variety of academic programmes in economics and business as well as in languages and literature. It hosts several research centres active in these fields, and has a long tradition of providing intensive language training to its business students. HUB is an association partner of the Catholic University of Leuven.
HUB's city campus is located within walking distance (7 minutes) from Brussels Central Railway Station that has direct train connections to Brussels Airport (Zaventem), London (by Eurostar), Paris and other major French cities (by Thalys and TGV) and to other major European cities.
Brussels offers many interesting options for tourist visits, including historical buildings, museums, shopping areas, wonderful gastronomy, etc. Moreover, Brussels is well connected to all other major Belgian cities (e.g. Antwerp, Bruges, Ghent, Leuven, Mechelen, Liège) as well as foreign cities (e.g. Paris, London, Amsterdam, Cologne, Luxemburg).
