Meeting Description:

The University of Cologne is proud to announce the Sixth International LESLLA 
Symposium, to be held in Cologne, Germany, from August 26-28, 2010. 

LESLLA (Low Educated Second Language and Literacy Acquisition in Adults) is an 
international forum of researchers who share an interest in research into the
development of second language skills by adult immigrants with little or no
schooling in the home country, low levels of literacy skills in the native
language, and limited proficiency in the language of the new country. 

Call for Papers

We invite proposals for individual papers or posters. Topics for possible
submissions to the conference include, but are not limited to, second language
acquisition with a focus on literacy skills, family literacy, literacy in the
native language, contrastive literacy, program development, professional
development and teacher education. 

The deadline for the submission of proposals is March 31, 2010.
