We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.
In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.
To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at
http://linguistlist.org/LL/posttolinguist.cfm.

I am writing a book about the National Endowment for the Humanities
(NEH) funded grants for writing from 1973 - 1987. The project
combines archival materials with interviews of faculty who were
involved in NEH funded projects during those 14 years.
I am in search of faculty who were participants in any of James Sledd's
NEH funded projects at University of Texas, Austin:
Standard English: Social Control and Individual Freedom
1978 - 1979
Varieties of English as a World Language: Uses and Values
1979
Standard English: Social Control and Individual Freedom
1979
Linguistics, Literacy, and the Politics of Education:
Selected Instances, 1960-1980, 1981
If you were a participant, or know someone who was, would you please
contact me: gellera at stjohns.edu or anne.geller at gmail.com
Also, if there is any chance you were a participant in any other "rhetoric
and composition" or "writing across the curriculum" grant funded by the
NEH in those years, I'd also be happy to hear from you.
Thanks very much!
Anne
