Description:
The Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness Unit of the World Banks'
Human Resources Department is seeking part-time Language Instructors in
Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. The program's
work focuses on providing language training and other learning support for
Bank staff in the area of intercultural communication. These positions
demand expertise and experience in the fields of second language
acquisition, the integration of culture in language classes, and teaching
adult learners.
The World Bank is searching for these part-time Language Instructors for
its headquarters in Washington, DC.
Qualifications:
- Native speakers of the target language and excellent command of English
in oral and written communication.
- Master's degree or higher in language teaching, second language
acquisition, applied linguistics or a related field. At least 3 years of
recent experience in language teaching and curriculum design in the target
language. Alternatively, the candidates may have a B.A. in the
aforementioned fields and at least 5 years of experience.
Short-listed candidates may be required to submit a sample of instructional
design, and a classroom demonstration.
