Description:

The School of Modern Languages in the Ivan Allen College at the Georgia
Institute of Technology announces an opening for a Visiting Assistant
Professor in Modern Standard Arabic language and culture, to begin August
2010. This is a one-semester replacement to teach 3 courses in language,
including third-year Arabic. Native or near-native proficiency in Modern
Standard Arabic and an additional dialect, and A.B.D. (at level of Visiting
Lecturer) or Ph.D. are required. Evidence of successful prior teaching
experience at the undergraduate level (and, ideally, experience teaching
third-year Arabic) is strongly preferred.

The School of Modern Languages emphasizes interactive learning and applied
languages and intercultural studies. Georgia Tech consistently ranks in the
top 10 best national public universities by U.S. News and World Reports.
Located in Atlanta, Georgia, one of the most international-oriented
metropolitan areas in the United States, Georgia Tech attracts students and
