- dialogue management in practical implementations
- categorisation of dialogue moves or speech acts in corpora

The best accepted papers will be invited to submit extended versions to Dialogue
& Discourse (www.dialogue-and-discourse.org), the new open-access journal
dedicated exclusively to research on language 'beyond the single sentence'.

Henry Prakken (Utrecht University)
Satellite Workshop: Intentions in Dialogue
SemDial participants may also be interested in the "Intentions in Dialogue"
workshop being held in Poznan on Tuesday 15th June (at the same location).
Modelling the achievement of effective coordination between interlocutors is
often assumed to rely on some notion of strategic common ground or mutual
knowledge computation. However, some recent psycholinguistic and language
acquisition data seem to undermine this assumption, and computational models of
dialogue often exclude high-order meta-representations of other parties' beliefs
or intentions.
This workshop will explore various points of views pertaining to this issue and
its resolution.
Talks are by invitation, but all SemDial participants are welcome to attend and
join the discussions.
Dates and Deadlines
1. Full 8-page papers
- Submission due: 15 March 2010
- Notification of acceptance: 12 April 2010
- Camera-ready papers due: 04 May 2010

- Submission due: 12 April 2010

3. SemDial 2010: June 16-18, 2010 (Wednesday-Friday)
Full papers will be in the usual 8-page, 2-column format. There will also be
poster and demo presentations. The selection of posters and demos will be based
on 2-page descriptions. Selected descriptions will be included in the
proceedings. The styles (LaTeX, MS Word, OO Writer) and detailed instructions
needed for proper submission preparation are available on the conference website
(http://semdial2010.amu.edu.pl/submission.html).
