2nd Call for Papers

Dear Colleagues, 
We are pleased to announce you that the second edition of the International
Conference on Paradigms of the Ideological Discourse, focusing on the
Globalization Ideology, will be held in Gala?i, Romania, from April 30th to May
2nd, 2010. We will be honoured to have you as a participant.

The Conference on Paradigms of the Ideological Discourse is organized by a
research team affiliated to "Dun?rea de Jos" University of Gala?i, Romania, on 
whose premises the conference is to be held. The purpose of the Conference is to
provide an academic and multidisciplinary environment for dissemination of the
researching results in the area of an ample and controversial phenomenon: 
the implication of ideology in the social-human sciences, in general, and in the
language and communication sciences, in particular.

The conference is addressed to both Romanian and foreign academics, 
researchers, master and PhD students who are interested in presenting their work
to an audience and meeting people from related fields, in order to provide
background for productive discussion and peer evaluation upon such subjects of
interest as:

- Linguistic globalization
- EU language policy
- "The Power" of ideological discourse
- Ethnocentrism vs. multiculturalism  
- Political discourse of globalization
- Cultural identity and globalization
- Ecumenism and globalization in present religious discourse
- Globalization and media culture 
- Literature and critical discourse in the globalization era
- National literature in the context of globalization
- Interculturality and translation
- The paradigms of globalization in the educational studies
- Language education: social inclusion and linguistic diversity 

N.B. Submissions to the conference are not restricted to the special topics here
listed. We welcome proposals relating to any aspects regarding the relationship
between ideology and Humanities or Social Sciences.

Calendar: 
- March 15th: Abstract submission (150 - 400 words) - extended to March 20th
- March 20th: Deadline for abstract submission and fee payment - extended to 
March 25th (We are kindly requesting you to attach a scanned copy of the 
receipt to your message)
- March 25th: Provisional programme
- April 10th: First draft of the presentation to be sent
- April 30th- May 2nd: Conference and final article version

The conference presentation languages are: English, French and Romanian. 
Presentations last 15-20 minutes, followed by questions and answers (5-10
minutes). The conference will host keynote speeches and concurrent sessions 
organized around the above-mentioned topics.

- Mid May: Revised versions of the articles accepted for publication 
The papers presented in the conference will be published in our Research
Centre's review "Communication interculturelle et littérature" (indexed in two
IDB: Modern Language Association, New York, www.mla.org, and Fabula. La
recherche en littérature, www.fabula.org) upon evaluation by the scientific
committee. The remaining papers will be published in the conference proceedings.
Publication of submitted and accepted papers is possible only in English, French
or German.

- Mid June: Published volume
Registration fee:
The Conference registration fee is 40 EUR for participants (this includes
conference materials, coffee breaks, conference dinner, the publication of the
paper) and 25 EUR for publication only (without participation).  Volume postage:
15 EUR abroad, 5 EUR for Romania.
