Meeting Description:
The 2010 Second Language Research Forum will be held October 14-17 at
the University of Maryland. In concert with the theme 'Reconsidering SLA
research:
Dimensions and Directions', this year's SLRF conference will bring together
relevant theories and research methodology from various disciplines that
deepen our understanding of SLA and its application to real world needs.
2nd Call For Papers
We would like to inform you that the deadline for abstract submissions to
Second Language Research Forum (SLRF-2010) has been extended. The
new Submission Deadline is May 7, 2010.
Submission Guidelines:
We invite proposals on cognitive, discourse, functional, generative,
psycholinguistic, socio-cultural and structural perspectives on second
language research. Comprehensive syntheses, preferably in the form of
meta-analysis, are also invited in these areas. Please limit all abstracts to
300 words; the limit for proposal summaries is 50 words.
Paper Presentations:
Paper presentations will be 20-minutes long, followed by a 10-minute
discussion period.
Poster Presentations:
Poster presenters will be available to present and discuss their work after
the lunch break on Friday and Saturday. Posters are intended to be a
presentation of work in progress.
Submission Policy:
You may submit a maximum of one abstract as first author, in addition to a
possible role as a colloquium organizer, discussant, or co-author/co-
presenter of another paper.
Abstract Awards:
The 10 students with the highest abstract ratings will receive a travel award
in the amount of $300. Award recipients will be announced July 1st, 2010,
on the SLRF website.
