Meeting Description:
Formulation, or the activity of summarising, glossing, or developing the gist of
the earlier sequence of talk covers important functions in the negotiation of
participants' understanding and their management of identities, rights and
responsibilities, related to knowledge and information.
The purpose of this workshop is that of discussing the idea of formulation in
institutional talk and its function in shaping authority, identities and
participants' rights and responsibilities in conversation.
Participation to the workshop is free and limited to 60 participants. To
participate, please send an e-mail to Federico Farini
(federico.farini at unimore.it), by July 20, 2010. Selection of participants will
take place on a first-come, first-served basis.
