Description:

Language Services at the University of Jyväskylä Language Centre is seeking
a proof reader with experience in working with academic and administrative
texts. The successful candidate will be a native speaker of English and
have a minimum of five years of professional proofreading experience, a
basic knowledge of Word and Excel, will be acquainted with academic
referencing standards and familiar with administrative and online
documents. A university degree from an English-speaking country is a must.
The ability to understand Finnish is a bonus.

We offer the chance to work in a small team of full-time and freelance
proofreaders and translators. The main language is English and most tasks
involve proofreading. We also receive translation tasks to and from other
languages such as Swedish, German and Russian.

The job-specific pay component for the position of an
amanuensis/proofreader is determined on the basis of salary group 8 (2
310.29 Euros/month) in the university ancillary staff salary scale. In
addition, an individual pay component is paid on the basis of job
performance, which can amount to a maximum of 46,3% of the job-specific pay
component.
