Abstract:

Die Metonymie als Trope beruht ähnlich wie die Metapher auf einer
semantischen Ähnlichkeitsbeziehung zwischen Gemeintem und Gesagtem. Im
Unterschied zur Metapher besteht diese jedoch in einer direkten
Nachbarschaft der Begriffe, basiert also nicht auf einer
Vergleichsbeziehung, sondern auf einem 'realen' Ähnlichkeitsverhältnis.
Obwohl Metapher und Metonymie als gleichwertige Tropen angesehen werden
können, wurde die Metonymie in der Forschung eher als zweitrangig
behandelt. Die Ursache für die bisherige Vernachlässigung der Metonymie
kann darin gesehen werden, dass sie vorzugsweise in der pragmatischen Prosa
Anwendung findet. Es gilt den Mangel zu untersuchen - im Gegensatz zu dem
bereits ausführlich erörterten Überschuss der Metapher - und Eigenschaft
der Metonymie kritisch zu beleuchten, Inhalte unbemerkt verschieben zu
können. Die Monographie soll Einblicke in den Mechanismus und Leistungen
der Verbmetonymie bieten. Als übergreifendes Ziel kann die Ausarbeitung
möglicher Interpretationswege für metonymische Äußerungen angesetzt werden.
Die Arbeit versteht sich als Beitrag zur linguistischen Pragmatik aus
kognitiver Perspektive. Dabei sollen Pragmatik und Kognitive Linguistik zum
Thema Verbmetonymie ein Untersuchungsfeld eröffnen, das Raum für
weiterführende Überlegungen und unterschiedlichste Ausrichtungen und
Interessen bieten kann.
