Description:

Job Posting Title: Post-Doctoral Fellow 

Job Summary: The Department of Linguistics, in the College of Liberal Arts
and Sciences at the University of Connecticut, Storrs, is accepting
applications for a post-doctoral researcher, starting date negotiable. This
is a one year appointment subject to annual renewal pending satisfactory
performance.

The post-doctoral researcher would mainly be working on the project,
Development of Bimodal Bilingualism, investigating the acquisition of
American Sign Language and English in young children. The researcher would
be expected to contribute to the overall goals of the project including
developing his/her own independent works under the project umbrella.

The position also includes teaching one course per year as assigned by the
department head.  

Qualifications 

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Linguistics or related field by the start
date of employment; and evidence or promise of a strong
research/publication record in generative approaches to language
acquisition research. Knowledge of American Sign Language or another sign
language (at least conversational fluency) is preferred. 

Appointment Terms: This is a full-time position. Salary will be according
to the NIH post-doc scale.
