Language Planning and the Media
Should the media account for the linguistic heterogeneity of its potential
consumers? What should planners consider at the national and regional levels to
cover these diverse needs? The forthcoming CILP issue will focus on language
planning and the role of conventional and new media in terms of:
- literacy planning, biliteracy, multiliteracy
- disability, accessibility and equality
- featuring non-dominant and lesser used languages
- languages on the Internet
- related tensions; conflicts; practices; challenges.
We welcome papers which include, but are not limited to, the above topics.
The Editor for this issue is Gabrielle Hogan-Brun,
G.Hogan-Brun at bristol.ac.uk It is anticipated papers will be published in 2011.
Suggested deadline for receipt of abstracts: January 2011
Suggested deadline for receipt of final papers: May 2011
