Description:

We are searching for a Hong Kong Chinese Language Specialist to work 30-40
hours per week onsite at a well-known digital media company in Seattle to
help create the Chinese search vocabulary for the Hong Kong market. 

The Language Specialist will provide on-time and high-quality search
terminology translations from English into Hong Kong Chinese, and review
and assess existing Chinese translations (zh-tw and zh-cn) - both human and
machine-translated. In addition, the Language Specialist may be called on
to assist in other linguistic and localization projects as needed.

This is a full-time position (30-40 hours/week), onsite in the
Fremont/Seattle office starting as soon as possible. 

It is a 3-month contract, with possibility of extension to 6 months.

Requirements
-Must be native Hong Kong Chinese speaker with near native knowledge of English
-Well informed on Hong Kong current events
-BA/BS in Linguistics or Languages with strong grammar/linguistics knowledge 
-Broad, well-rounded translation experience required; 3-5 years preferred
-Experience with search engines and/or keyword translation projects preferred 
-Experience with Machine Translation (MT) preferred
-Translation certification preferred (e.g. ATA); vocabulary/terminology
application skills preferred 
-Localization/Internationalization experience preferred
-Experience with Translation Memory (TM) tools (SDLX preferred)
-Expertise in XML/HTML and web site localization a plus

Responsibilities
-Hong Kong Chinese search vocabulary translation and editing 
-Review existing Chinese translations (traditional and simplified) to bring
up to standards
-Style guide creation and enhancement
-Translation Memory management
-Search engine testing
