Dear LINGUIST List Subscribers,
I am the graduate assistant to the LINGUIST List Review
Editors Team, which is basically a University of Wisconsin-
Madison extension to the Eastern Michigan University-based
LINGUIST List.
I assist the very busy reviews team with maintaining records
of LINGUIST List reviewers, contacting publishers to obtain
review copies, and processing/formating incoming reviews. I
try to make sure that our day-to-day reviews operation runs
as smoothly as possible. To keep that operation available to
our list of 25,000 subscribers, please consider donating at
the link below:
https://linguistlist.org/donation/donate/donate1.cfm
I am originally from Regensburg, Germany, and after I obtained
an MA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I
started working towards my PhD in English Language and
Linguistics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Because
of your donations in support of LINGUIST List, I get to peek
behind the curtain and see what all is involved in keeping up
just one part of a vast linguistics network. It is exciting and
rewarding to interact with the larger community of linguists
and publishers around the world on a daily basis.
During a workshop at EMU, I got to know the rest of the LINGUIST
List crew, and I'm proud to be part of such a lively, energetic,
visionary and outstanding team of (aspiring) linguists. I would
like to thank all of you who have contributed to LINGUIST in the
past and who are contributing now, because you help us to keep
this free service going, and to make it even better.
Thank you for your support! Your donation is what enables LINGUIST
to continue working on its mission. If you have not donated yet,
please contribute to keep LINGUIST alive and well at:

The LINGUIST List
This Year the LINGUIST List hopes to raise $67,000. This money will go to help
keep the List running by supporting all of our Student Editors for the coming year.

The LINGUIST List is under the umbrella of Eastern Michigan University and as
such can receive donations through the EMU Foundation, which is a registered
501(c) Non Profit organization. Our Federal Tax number is 38-6005986. These
donations can be offset against your federal and sometimes your state tax return
(U.S. tax payers only). For more information visit the IRS Web-Site, or contact
your financial advisor.
Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that they will match
any gift you make to a non-profit organization. Normally this entails your
contacting your human resources department and sending us a form that the
EMU Foundation fills in and returns to your employer. This is generally a simple
administrative procedure that doubles the value of your gift to LINGUIST, without
costing you an extra penny. Please take a moment to check if your company
operates such a program.
Thank you very much for your support of LINGUIST!
