Dear LINGUIST List Subscribers,
My name is Erica Wicks, and I have been a student editor at
The LINGUIST List since July of 2009. In the past two years,
I have grown professionally and personally in ways that I never
imagined possible. This is why I would like to seize this
opportunity to thank all of you for supporting The LINGUIST
List. I owe this wonderful opportunity to you because The
LINGUIST List could not operate without your donations. Please
donate to this year's Fund Drive to keep the organization alive:
https://linguistlist.org/donation/donate/donate1.cfm
Donating to The LINGUIST List gives students like me the
opportunity broaden our knowledge and give something back to
the linguistic community. 100% of your donations goes to
helping us provide you with the best resources possible. I
have the great fortune of editing the NoticeBoard submissions
to our listserv, designed to help answer your questions about
everything from housing to resource-finding. Through NoticeBoard
and other features of The LINGUIST List (like our Job and
Conference announcements) we can be a direct benefit to linguists
today.
Even if you can only send $25 or $50 our way, you will be
helping us out in a BIG way. You contribution helps support
another year of The LINGUIST List publishing more of the
linguistics information you need. Please support us at:
https://linguistlist.org/donation/donate/donate1.cfm
With my sincerest thanks,
Erica Wicks
This Year the LINGUIST List hopes to raise $67,000. This money will go to help
keep the List running by supporting all of our Student Editors for the coming year.
See below for donation instructions, and don't forget to check out Fund
Drive 2011 site!

The LINGUIST List is under the umbrella of Eastern Michigan University and as
such can receive donations through the EMU Foundation, which is a registered
501(c) Non Profit organization. Our Federal Tax number is 38-6005986. These
donations can be offset against your federal and sometimes your state tax return
(U.S. tax payers only). For more information visit the IRS Web-Site, or contact
your financial advisor.
Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that they will match
any gift you make to a non-profit organization. Normally this entails your
contacting your human resources department and sending us a form that the
EMU Foundation fills in and returns to your employer. This is generally a simple
administrative procedure that doubles the value of your gift to LINGUIST, without
costing you an extra penny. Please take a moment to check if your company
operates such a program.
Thank you very much for your support of LINGUIST!
