Description:

Medical informaticist working on evidence based medicine software
applications involving advanced text analytics, NLP and speech recognition
technology.

Major duty is to lead the software development efforts, from conceptual
design, detailed use case design, requirements and specifications,
prototyping, and product development. This will involve collaboration with
Nuance research team, the IBM Watson research team, the Nuance product
management and clinical research teams and application development teams. 

This job requires a strong and energetic technical leader that is capable
of rapid development within highly complex architecture with a team of
highly skilled researchers and developers.

-  Lead the development efforts to build a state of the art evidence based
medicine system
-  Collaborate with IBM research to transform the Watson Question and
Answer architecture to medical use cases
-  Develop medical application software for medical use cases in an agile
development process
-  Productize the Watson technology stack in collaboration with IBM  
-  Own the integrated project plan, and manage the development projects 
-  Build an application software development group for Evidence Based Medicine

Qualifications:   

1)  Number of Years of Work Experience:  7+

2)  Required Skills:
-  Experience in healthcare software development 
-  Experience in leading software development teams 
-  Experience in project management in software development 
-  Extensive programming experience in JAVA, C++/C# is required 
-  Knowledge of Data Mining, information retrieval systems and technology,
SQL or other database technology, large parallel systems, high performance
computing
-  Broad knowledge of platforms including Linux, Windows/.net and mobile
platforms  

3)  Preferred Skills:
-  Application knowledge of Machine Learning and information retrieval
algorithms in healthcare applications 
-  Experience in clinical decision support and evidence based medicine
systems or projects
-  Experience in medical text analytics and/or clinical information
retrieval is a definite PLUS
-  Experience working with UIMA is a PLUS

4)  Education:
-  Masters in Computer Science, MSEE or equivalent
