Responsibilities: 
-  Computer scientist in the Heathcare Research organization working on a 
state of the art evidence based medicine and clinical decision support 
system in collaboration with IBM based on the Watson technology
-  Major duty is to develop prototypes, tools and application software that 
used the Watson technology in healthcare
-  Build a state of the art evidence based medical decision support system as 
part of the Nuance DeepQA healthcare team in collaboration with IBM 
Research. Develop system and application software
-  Interpreting requirement, functional and design specifications
-  Designing medium to high complexity code modules without supervision
-  Writing functional and design specifications without supervision
-  Writing requirement specifications with some supervision
-  Implementing and testing medium to high-complexity code modules without 
supervision
-  Owning one or more product components for a product line from an 
engineering standpoint
-  Mentoring junior engineers
-  Performing code reviews of other engineers' work
-  Leading small project teams
-  Effectively communicating accurate estimates, status, and issues to 
management

Qualifications:
1)  Number of Years of Work Experience: 9+ of software development 
experience
 
2)  Required Skills:
-  Programming experience in one of these languages is required: JAVA, 
C++, PERL, Python.
-  Bash/Unix scripting skills are required
-  SQL or other Database knowledge is highly desirable
-  Software development in High Performance Computing environment  
-  Strong desire to learn new technologies and techniques
-  Superb technical analytical, debugging and problem-solving skills
-  Superb organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
-  Superb verbal and written communication skills
-  Demonstrable ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, commercial software 
development environment
-  Establishes superb professional relationships with team members
-  Demonstrable ability to manage small project teams
 
3)  Preferred Skills:
-  Experience in medical text analytics and/or clinical information retrieval is a 
definite PLUS
-  Experience working with UIMA is a definite PLUS
-  Development experience with iOS and Android is a plus
 
4)  Education:
-  A BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, 
Math or a related field
