Description:
Morehead State University, recognized as one of the top public universities in
the South by U.S. News & World Report, is accepting applications for a
tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of English in the Department
of English beginning August 2012. Salary is commensurate with qualifications
and experience.
Responsibilities: Expertise in either semantics or sociolinguistics; ability to
teach semantics, sociolinguistics, and composition with a load of four
courses per semester; interest in teaching undergraduate and graduate
courses, both face-to-face and on-line; interest in aiding the department,
college and the university through service commitments and collegiality;
interest in aiding the department in recruitment, retention and graduation of
majors.
Qualifications: The qualified applicant will have earned a Ph.D. in Linguistics
by August 2012 and show evidence of ability to teach and advise at the
college level.
Desired Qualifications: Ability to teach History of English, knowledge of Old
English. Review of applications will begin January 23, 2012 and will continue
until position is filled.
