Session 1

Title: Plurilingualism

The session, whose topic has been proposed by the local organizing committee, aims at taking stock of research status on plurilingualism. The term plurilingualism is meant, in a broad sense, as a hypernym with respect to the definitions of multilingualism and plurilingualism given in European documents.

Members and non-members are kindly invited to submit their proposals according to the following conference themes.

1.1. Plurilingualism in the ancient world (e.g. Hellenistic Age, Roman-imperial Age, Chinese world):  sources, data, events

Session 2

Title: Syntax

The session, whose topic has been proposed by the Executive Committee of the Società di Linguistica Italiana, aims at taking stock of recent researches on syntax of Italian and romance, past and modern, varieties.

Members and non-members are kindly invited to submit proposals that can be placed in a synchronic or diachronic perspective, in a formal or descriptive perspective, in a typological or comparative perspective, of reflection on the core syntactic features or on the interface with other linguistic levels of analysis (phonology, morphology, semantics, pragmatics) seen across the dimension of variance or invariance.

The deadline to send proposals is 29 February 2012.

Oral presentations and posters can be in Italian, French or English, LIS.

Abstracts (Title Arial bold 12, 2000 keystrokes Arial 12 + max 5 bibliographic  references) must be sent to sli2012 at unistrasi.it by email (heading  subject: 'Proposta paper SLI 2012' or 'Proposta poster SLI 2012'). The email text must clearly report the title of the contribution or poster, author's name, affiliation, email notification address and the language of presentation.
