Are you a PhD student from Russia or Canada? Then you may be eligible for
funding from the University of Tromsø to stay as a visiting student at
CASTL, UiT, Norway!
The Center for Advanced Study in Theoretical Linguistics, CASTL,
(http://castl.uit.no/) is pleased to announce one-semester visiting grants
for PhDs from Northern countries (High North Fellowship Program). This year
grants will be awarded to one student who studies in Russia and one student
who studies in Canada. Both grants are for 3 to 5 months and they should be
spent in the fall semester of 2011.
The High North Fellowship grants are NOK 8,900 per month. The grants also
cover travel for up to NOK 10,000. If you are interested in the grants,

The application must include the following:
- A filled-out application form (may be found at the following link)

- A recommendation letter from your adviser of your home institute
- A one-page project description (including a brief plan for your research
activity during your stay in Tromsø, about your current project, its
relevance to CASTL's research activities, etc)
- A document that verifies that you are enrolled in a PhD program at your
university
