We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.
In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.
To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at

Hello,
I'm a M.A student of general linguistics and I'm trying to build up a
linguistic corpus which can be used for semantic analysis for the
Persian language. I have not yet found any books or other materials
which can guide me through developing one.
I have chosen this subject for my M.A thesis, but I want it to be
expandable. I have planned to include written and spoken data in this
corpus, and it's not going to be limited to a special kind of text.
However I want this data to be tagged properly so that different
analyses would be possible for others beyond what I will develop for my
thesis.
I was wandering if you could tell me what to read and/or who I can
contact with on this subject?
Thanks in advance,
Shaya Shahabi
