Description:
The Institute of Anthropology, Archaeology and Linguistics of Aarhus
University seeks an Assistant Professor of Linguistics (in Danish Adjunkt)
to begin on 1 August 2011. The appointment is for three years; thereafter
it is possible to apply for a tenured associate professorship in open
competition.
The candidate should have a PhD or its equivalent in linguistics as well as
teaching experience and the expertise and experience to develop research
projects at university level within the area of specialisation.
The department is particularly interested in candidates with an expertise
in neurolinguistics, psycholinguistics and/or some closely related
discipline, who are also prepared to teach in at least two of the following
areas: phonetics & phonology, morphosyntax, sociolinguistics, language
acquisition. Expertise in at least one (other) area of applied linguistics,
empirical methods and/or statistics would be advantageous. The selected
candidate will be expected to support and contribute to teaching, research,
and innovative curriculum development in graduate and undergraduate

Candidates should take an active interest in the dynamic relation between
grammar and language use, which characterizes teaching and research in the
Department of Linguistics at Aarhus University (see

Professional Associations.
