UMass Workshop on South Asian Syntax and Semantics
Date: March 19-20, 2011

Goals

This workshop has two primary goals. The first is to provide a local venue 
for discussion of formal work on various aspects of South Asian languages. 
The second is to encourage discussion on the role of corpora and 
computational resources (lexicons, PropBanks, treebanks) for formal 
linguistic research and to solicit feedback for one such resource: the 
currently under construction Hindi-Urdu Treebank, a current version of 
which can be found at http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1329068/Treebank-
Hyderabad/treebank.html. Authors are encouraged to consider this latter 
goal, but this is not obligatory.
