Dear LINGUIST List Subscribers,
While our fund drive is underway, we here at LINGUIST List would
like to remind you of the many great features we develop and
maintain that would not be possible without your donations:
https://linguistlist.org/donation/donate/donate1.cfm
Today, it is our pleasure to highlight two of these services,
the Wiley-Blackwell Language & Linguistics Compass Discussion Forum,
and Cambridge Extra.
Since 2008 LINGUIST has hosted the Wiley-Blackwell Language & Linguistics
Compass Discussion Forum - an area where full-text access to select
Language and Linguistics Compass articles is provided for our users
for free. The forum also features a comment board for discussion of
the articles among peers in the linguistics community. Here, users are
given the opportunity to post their comments and questions regarding the
content of each article, and, in many cases, the authors themselves take
part in the discussion. This has been a very successful project with a
large viewer base, and one that we hope to continue for many years.
Our most recent issue of the Wiley-Blackwell Language & Linguistics
Compass Discussion Forum was released in Winter 2011. We encourage you
to visit the Forum and read these exciting articles at:
http://linguistlist.org/pubs/blackwell/compass_index.cfm.
In October 2007, we also launched Cambridge Extra, the official blog for
Cambridge University press, which features book previews, free journal articles,
author interviews, news, special offers, as well as competitions to win free
publications from Cambridge University Press. Also featured is the Applied
Linguistics Zone, which offers free articles, podcasts from authors and provides
you with the opportunity to post your own podcasts, news and other information.
This feature serves to keep you up to date on the latest developments in applied
linguistics.
Readers can subscribe to the blog or to the comments facility
via the RSS feed to keep up to date on the latest publications in the field,
as well as to hear of the great offers and promotions Cambridge announces!
You can view and subscribe to Cambridge Extra at the following URL:
http://cup.linguistlist.org/
Features such as the Compass Forum and Cambridge Extra allow for easy
accessibility and exchange of information in our discipline. We urge you
to utilize these resources, and please, donate to LINGUIST List, so we
can continue to make resources such as this freely accessible to you, our
community members.
Help us keep these services alive, donate now at:

Best Wishes,
The LINGUIST List Team

The LINGUIST List is under the umbrella of Eastern Michigan University and as
such can receive donations through the EMU Foundation, which is a registered
501(c) Non Profit organization. Our Federal Tax number is 38-6005986. These
donations can be offset against your federal and sometimes your state tax return
(U.S. tax payers only). For more information visit the IRS Web-Site, or contact
your financial advisor.
Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that they will match
any gift you make to a non-profit organization. Normally this entails your
contacting your human resources department and sending us a form that the
EMU Foundation fills in and returns to your employer. This is generally a simple
administrative procedure that doubles the value of your gift to LINGUIST, without
costing you an extra penny. Please take a moment to check if your company
operates such a program.
Thank you very much for your support of LINGUIST!
