Abstract:
Esta obra se centra en el análisis pragmalingüístico de las estrategias y los
recursos verbales descorteses presentes en un corpus que no había sido
atendido hasta el momento: las tertulias televisivas sobre crónica social. La
autora describe un género comunicativo que posee una gran acogida en las
parrillas televisivas actuales y constata la existencia de un nuevo fenómeno,
la descortesía mediático-lúdica, consistente en la utilización estratégica de la
descortesía verbal como medio de captar la atención del telespectador.
Además, en el libro se traza una teoría sobre la (des)cortesía verbal desde el
punto de vista lingüístico y se completa la descripción gramatical de los
elementos analizados con la incorporación del efecto social producido por
ellos. Como resultado, este estudio contribuye de manera notable al avance
de la Gramática, en el sentido de que suma a la descripción de sus unidades
factores contextuales y de recepción no tenidos en cuenta hasta el
momento.

recursos verbales utilizados en su formulación.
Ester Brenes Peña es doctora en Filología Hispánica por la Universidad de
Sevilla. Su labor investigadora se centra en el análisis de la sintaxis y
(des)cortesía verbal española desde una perspectiva pragmática. Entre sus
publicaciones destacan estudios sobre marcadores discursivos, la apertura
del turno conversacional, la interrupción, la ironía, el discurso político, la
entrevista y debates televisivos, género este último que ha analizado desde
la perspectiva de la descortesía. Asimismo, se ha ocupado de actos de habla
como la amenaza o el desacuerdo.
