Dear LINGUIST List Subscribers,
My name is Flora Du. and I started to work as a financial editor
in August 2009. Working with a group of students with such diverse
interests and backgrounds has been a fantastic experience for me
professionally and personally. That is why I would like to seize
the chance to thank all of you for your support. Your donations
have provided me and others with such an excellent opportunity to
learn and grow. Without your help, I cannot work, and our organization
cannot survive; so please donate this year to keep our work and
LINGUIST List going:

Among the Linguistic and Computer Science students, I am the only
Accounting student. My tasks are including answering phones, replying
subscribers' payment questions, following-up financial issues,
maintaining funds, generating controls to avoid overspending, and
helping our university in funds audits. In general, my responsibility
is to assist LINGUIST List to plan and use its financial resources
efficiently, economically and effectively. Such experiences have
broadened my accounting knowledge, and have encouraged me to pursue
my career goal as an auditor.
All of your donations go to our students' payroll. In return, those
students put their robust works to provide free and important services
for you. With your continuous submissions and generous donations,
students from all over the world get the wonderful opportunity to
become stronger linguists and to provide the betterment of the field.
To help the survival of LINGUIST, and to help me and my fellow crew
members to continue next year's work,
please donate today.

$5, $10, $20 ... any amount is highly appreciated. Thank you very much
for your support!
Sincerely,
Flora Du

The LINGUIST List is under the umbrella of Eastern Michigan University and as
such can receive donations through the EMU Foundation, which is a registered
501(c) Non Profit organization. Our Federal Tax number is 38-6005986. These
donations can be offset against your federal and sometimes your state tax return
(U.S. tax payers only). For more information visit the IRS Web-Site, or contact
your financial advisor.
Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that they will match
any gift you make to a non-profit organization. Normally this entails your
contacting your human resources department and sending us a form that the
EMU Foundation fills in and returns to your employer. This is generally a simple
administrative procedure that doubles the value of your gift to LINGUIST, without
costing you an extra penny. Please take a moment to check if your company
operates such a program.
Thank you very much for your support of LINGUIST!
