Dear LINGUIST List Subscribers,
Let me ask you: What's your favorite page on LINGUIST List and why?
If you happen to like the Jobs page, is it because of its user-friendly
search facility that lets you search for a job based on a linguistic
subfield? Or if you're a fan of the Books page, is it because you can
sort through by the latest announcements or search by author? Whatever
the page and whatever the reason, it's important to note that each and
every page you see on the LINGUIST List site has gone through both rigorous
testing by our Quality Control crew members and fixing by our programmers.
Every donation we receive, whether it is a smaller amount such as ten
dollars or a larger quantity, contributes to the maintenance of the LINGUIST
List site. To keep these pages running, please donate today:

Quality Control testing is done in stages. Each crew member testing or fixing
the particular project plays a vital role in getting the page working and
ready for the live site. First, we have the testers who look for any errors
or bugs on a page as well as make suggestions for appearance and usability.
These pages are checked on several browsers. Next, the programmers check the
errors, make fixes and implement suggestions. Finally, the Quality Control
Team Leader and the Programmer sit down to review the page and make sure that
all updates work properly before the page goes live.
Quality Control is an essential part of making each page as functional
and efficient as possible, but we rely on the generous donations of subscribers
to continue developing and maintaining a site with so much information.
Consider donating to LINGUIST List today to keep our site running smooth!

Amy Brunett

The LINGUIST List is under the umbrella of Eastern Michigan University and as
such can receive donations through the EMU Foundation, which is a registered
501(c) Non Profit organization. Our Federal Tax number is 38-6005986. These
donations can be offset against your federal and sometimes your state tax return
(U.S. tax payers only). For more information visit the IRS Web-Site, or contact
your financial advisor.
Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that they will match
any gift you make to a non-profit organization. Normally this entails your
contacting your human resources department and sending us a form that the
EMU Foundation fills in and returns to your employer. This is generally a simple
administrative procedure that doubles the value of your gift to LINGUIST, without
costing you an extra penny. Please take a moment to check if your company
operates such a program.
Thank you very much for your support of LINGUIST!
