The University of Marburg/Germany is pleased to announce Germany's first
On-the-Job Online Master degree program without in-class teaching:
''Linguistic Web Development'', beginning in October 2011. 

This Master is unique. Students do not have to come to Marburg to study
this Master, they can participate in this program while working on their jobs. 

The MA qualifies students as linguistic web developers with the ability to
create web-based applications that present or otherwise process various
kinds of linguistic data. It focuses on: 

- Consolidating knowledge about linguistics
- Training in different web development skills
- Introduction to combinations of linguistics and (language) technologies

The program benefits from 10 years of experience with the Virtual
Linguistics Campus (www.linguistics-online.com). All instructional content
of the program is available online and is part of different study programs.
It has been tested and used by numerous universities in Germany and abroad.

Constant updating and peer reviews ensure the quality of the content.
Additional print materials (the VLC workbooks) complement the courses. This
e-learning concept is--at least for the fields of linguistics and language
technology--unrivaled in the world.
