Journal history:
Our journal was first established in 1997 as Asian and African Studies
(Azijske in afri?ke ?tudije, AA?), a journal devoted to questions of Asian
and African linguistics, culture and societies. To be able to focus more
exclusively on questions pertaining to language, the editorial committee
decided to split the journal into two publications in 2010, AA? continuing
as a journal devoted to questions of culture and society of Asia and
Africa, and Acta Linguistica Asiatica (ALA) as a new journal devoted to
linguistic research on Asian languages.
Content description:
ALA is an interdisciplinary scholarly journal which publishes research
papers, survey papers and technical notes on the subjects of Asian
linguistics, translation studies and the teaching of Asian languages, book
reviews on representative works on the same subjects, and reports from
outstanding events. ALA encourages the interlinking of different linguistic
disciplines, fosters dialogue among different theoretical orientations and
their practical application, proposes new approaches to existing research
themes, draws attention to relevant questions, informs about recent
findings and events in the above areas.
This newly established linguistic journal is an online, peer-reviewed,
open-access journal.
Our first number is available at the following site:
