Applications are invited to work on a 10-year project in linguistics entitled « 
Empirical Foundations of Linguistics »  with a specific workpackage "Toward a 
Niger-Congo reconstruction", in 2012-2013.

This is a full time (6 months) or half time (12 months) position. The applicant is 
intended to work on the syntactic reconstruction of the Proto-Niger Congo.
The competences required are the following: A good knowledge of modern 
syntactic theories; experience in African historical comparative studies; good 
acquaintance with languages of at least one of the Niger-Congo (In Greenberg's 
sense) subfamilies; experience in field studies in Africa; English proficiency 
(oral and written).
