Meeting Description:

The workshop will consist of invited talks, discussion sessions and poster sessions. Our goal is to continue to examine aspects of sound change from a variety of theoretical and methodological perspectives including:

- Coarticulation, the listener & sound change
- Social/dialect factors & sound change
- Imitation, entrainment & sound change
- Language acquisition & sound change
- Evolutionary models of sound change
- Computational modeling of sound change
- Phonology and sound change 

Call for Papers:

After a number of enquiries we are issuing a second call for papers for the 2nd Workshop on Sound Change. Abstracts for poster presentation must now be submitted by Friday 17th December 2011.

The abstract submission guidelines remain the same and are as follows: 

Abstracts are limited to one single-spaced page, including data and examples. All text should fit within an A4 page, 12-point font with 2.5cm (approx. 1-inch) margin all around. Abstract submission is by e-mail attachment only. Save your anonymous one-page abstract as a PDF file and name it with your last name. Send the abstract as a PDF attachment to the following address: 

soundchange at phonetik.uni-muenchen.de 

In your e-mail, please make sure to include the following information: 

- Title of your paper 
- Name(s) of author(s) 
- Affiliation (department and university) 
- Preferred e-mail address (where notification of acceptance should be sent) 
All abstracts must be written in English. 

Important Dates: 

Abstract submission deadline: 17th December 2011 (second call)
Notification of acceptance: 7th January 2012 
Dates of conference: Wednesday 2nd - Friday 4th May 2012
