Description:
The University of Alaska Southeast, Juneau, Department of Humanities,
invites applications for a tenure-track, bipartite Assistant Professor of Spanish.
The incumbent will be responsible for teaching approximately 12 credits per
semester of both lower and upper division courses in Spanish. In addition,
university and public service is expected. Other duties include academic
advising for undergraduate students, coordinating modern foreign language
course offerings, campus committee service, and attendance and
involvement with the community in related events and contributions.
Experience in teaching a diverse body of students, particularly in teaching
Native American students, is preferred.
This is a 9-month, tenure-track position; salary is competitive and
commensurate with experience and qualifications. It includes an excellent
package of medical and financial benefits. The position is covered by a
collective bargaining unit agreement. Position begins in Fall 2012.
