The Northwest Linguistics Conference (NWLC) brings together research on theoretical and applied linguistics by graduate students from across the world. This year, the Department of Linguistics at the University of Washington, Seattle is honored to host the 28th NWLC on April 7 - 8, 2012.

Call for Papers:
We invite abstracts from or related to all areas of theoretical and applied linguistics (including, but not limited to, first and second language acquisition, sociolinguistics, historical linguistics, psycho/neurolinguistics, syntax, semantics, phonetics, phonology and other areas of formal language theory) for 20-minute talks (plus 10 minutes for questions). Proceedings from this conference will be published in a special edition of UW Working Papers in Linguistics.
Abstract Requirements and Details:
Abstracts must be sent to uwnwlc at uw.edu by January 15, 2012. Abstracts must be at most one page long (8.5 x 11) with one-inch margins on all sides and typed in at least 11-point font. A second page is allowed for data and references. Do not include your name, affiliation, or other identifying information in your abstract. In the body of the email, include:
1. Name(s) of the author(s)
2. Paper title
3. Affiliation(s) and status
4. Email address and telephone number of each author
The deadline for abstract submission is 11:59 PST on January 15, 2012.
Notification of abstract acceptance will be sent by February 10, 2012.
