Title: An Egyptian Grammar with Chrestomathy and Glossary
Series Title: LINCOM Orientalia 43

Publication Year: 2011
Publisher: Lincom GmbH
	   http://www.lincom.eu

Author: Samuel A.B. Mercer

Paperback: ISBN: 9783862901722 Pages: 194 Price: Europe EURO 57.10

Abstract:

The book is intended for Beginners. Experience in teaching Oriental
languages has taught me that the beginner needs a textbook which is both
simple and also supplied with exercises. The book is designed primarily for
use in colleges, seminaries, and universities, and is meant to provide an
academic year's work of three hours a week.

The needs of the private student were also kept in mind. Egyptian is difficult.
Nor have compilers of Egyptian grammars done much to make it attractive to
the student. It is with this in mind that I have prepared this book. I have
divided the grammar into chapters or lessons, and supplied each chapter with
copious exercises. I am sure that if the student works through these lessons
with care an dilligence he will have no trouble with the reading exercises
which follow (Re-edition; originally published 1927 in London; written in
English)
