Description:
The Department of Language Studies at the University of Toronto
Mississauga invites applications for one tenure-stream appointment
in the field of Teaching and Learning / Second Language Education
at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2013.
Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in a related field by July 1,
2013 with a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and
research. Applicants are expected to have expertise in teaching
French as a second language, a strong research focus and well-
defined research program in the area. Knowledge of any other
language taught in the Department would be an asset.
The successful applicant will teach undergraduate courses in the
Department of Language Studies, engage in the extensive co-
curricular and experiential learning activities in French offered in the
Department and work with academic colleagues to further the
department's strengths and profile as a leader in language teaching
and learning. S/he will undertake graduate teaching and supervision,
either as a member of the Graduate Department of French at the St.
George campus, or the Graduate Department of Curriculum,
Teaching and Learning at the Ontario Institute for Studies in
Education (OISE) of the University of Toronto. Salary will be
commensurate with qualifications and experience.
