Description:
Support is provided for two graduate positions in the program of Cognitive
Science of Language at McMaster University. The support is preferably for PhD
students, however, applicants interested in MSc degree are encouraged to apply
as well.
The support is part of a research project on the relationship between
scrambling and definiteness systems in Germanic and Slavic. The actual thesis
project can be either in syntax (scrambling) or in semantics (definiteness
systems) or in the syntax-semantics interface in these two language families.
Since the project is situated within the Cognitive Science of Language program
at McMaster University -- a new interdisciplinary program with a strong
emphasis on psycholinguistics -- applicants interested in the
psycholinguistics aspects of the syntax-semantics interface are especially
encouraged to apply.
Application Deadline: 04-Jan-2013
