Description:
Linguistics at Newcastle University is able to submit two nominations for
doctoral studentships as part of the ESRC (Economic and Social Sciences
Research Council) North-East Doctoral Training Centre. Home (UK) students and
those EU students who have been resident in the UK for a minimum of three
years are eligible for a full award comprising fees and an annual, tax free
stipend of £13,590 (2012/13 rates). Other EU students are eligible for a
fees-only award.
PhD projects must be from one of the following areas:
Applied Linguistics
Clinical Linguistics
Sociolinguistics
Language Acquisition / Bilingualism
