Abstract:

Dieses Lehrbuch bietet eine didaktisch aufbereitete Überblicksdarstellung zur  
italienischen Sprachgeschichte, die sich den Bedürfnissen der akademischen 
Lehre in den aktuellen Studiengängen mit italianistischem Profil anpasst. Es 
gibt eine  Übersicht über die historischen Entwicklungsphasen vom Vulgärlatein 
bis zur Etablierung des Italienischen als voll funktionstüchtiger Nationalsprache. 
Im Anschluss an die für das Staatsexamen nach wie vor prüfungsrelevanten 
altsprachlichen Phasen wird verstärkt die neuere Sprachgeschichte ab 1800 
berücksichtigt, was v.a. den Bedürfnissen in den Bachelor-Studiengängen 
entgegenkommt. Zusätzlich zur Entwicklung einer hauptsächlich 
literaturbasierten Schriftsprachnorm und deren Verbreitung über Schule und 
Massenmedien werden ausgewählte Diskurs- und Texttraditionen der 
italienischen Schriftkultur behandelt. Die Darstellung der historischen Rolle des 
Italienischen als europäischer Kultursprache trägt der immer bedeutender 
werdenden Verbindung von Sprache, Identität und Kultur für die 
Sprachgeschichtsschreibung Rechnung.
