Language Acquisition.

group at the University of Greenwich and other international research groups the

Scholarship 1-- The work of the holder of the PhD-studentship will feed into a
broader project about linguistic variation and copular clauses in several languages
including Spanish and English. The PhD student will contribute to (i) evaluate
current theoretical hypotheses about the copular alternation in languages such as
Spanish; (ii) assess the different predictions each one of them makes for language
acquisition; (iii) design and carry out experiments that produce finer-grained data
that can help identify the locus of copular alternation and the acquisition path
leading to native grammars of Spanish.

grammar instruction predicated on the input processing theoretical paradigm. The
goal of this PhD project is to investigate to what extent certain individual difference
factors (e.g. age, aptitude, working memory) positively interact with processing
instruction, ideally in languages other than English or Romance Languages.
