Abstract:

Indem ich die Sprachen einiger nördlich und nordöstlich von Japan und den 
Kurilen gelegenen Länder durchforschte, wollte ich mich besonders von der 
Wahrheit der mehrfach vorkommenden Angabe, dass die grönländische 
Sprache sich bis zu den Aleuten, ja selbst bis in einem Theile[sic] 
Nordostasiens erstrecke, überzeugen. Auf Grund des bis jetzt vorliegenden, 
übrigens ungenügenden Materiales ermittle ich, dass sowohl das Kadjakische 
als auch das Tschuktische stark mit grönländischen Worten gemengt ist, und 
dass auch bei dem Kadjakischen viele Formen der grönländischen 
Grammatik sich nachweisen lassen, während viele andere Formen gar nichts 
mit den grönländischen Formen gemein haben. Mit Hilfe der grönländischen 
Sprache war es indessen möglich, über die Eigentümlichkeiten der genannten 
zwei Sprachen Licht zu verbreiten und mitunter längere 
Auseinandersetzungen hinzuzugeben (aus der Einleitung.).

Inhalt: Einleitung, das Kadjakische (Endungen, die grönländischen 
Appositionen, kadjakische Verba), die grönländischen Wörter der eskimo-
tschuktschischen Sprache, grönländische Ergänzungen, Wörterbuch (re-
edition; 1894, Wien, written in German).
