Meeting Description:
The Department of Applied Linguistics and English Philology of the Institute of Humanities at Stanisław Staszic Higher Vocational State School in Piła in cooperation with the Institute of Applied Linguistics of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and the Department of Applied Linguistics and Translation Studies of the University of Gdańsk, wish to invite you to the third international academic seminar on Communication - Culture - Creativity, Piła, Poland, 22-23 October 2012. We aim to address the themes of interculturality and creativity in education and communication theory and practice.
The previous editions of our seminar in 2010 and 2011 hosted teachers and researchers from various educational institutions who are interested in theoretical and practical aspects of applied linguistics. So far most papers delivered during our seminars presented results of studies investigating how the ever-changing reality, demands of the labor market and increasing intercultural contacts impact classroom practice and theory. These factors, in conjunction with the ongoing technological development, pose new challenges and create a need to develop and improve sociolinguistic competences and personal traits like creativity, flexibility and open-mindedness. Therefore, we would like to invite all those interested in joining discussions in the above mentioned areas to attend the third edition of our seminar.
